Step into a bygone era with the Hero Classic, our premium open crown fedora that allows you to recreate classic styles and shapes with superior durability and refinement. In the past, many hats were sold “open crown,” meaning they hadn’t been shaped yet, leaving the creases or “bash” to be added by the hatter or customer. The Hero Classic elevates our original design with 100% rabbit fur felt, offering enhanced resilience and a luxurious finish while maintaining our commitment to accessibility. The fedora has been a fashion staple since the 1920s and 1930s, worn by everyone from the average man to bankers or even archaeologists. During the 1930s, the open crown fedora was an everyday accessory for the average man. Over time, this style of hat has become a timeless symbol of elegance and adventure. This open crown fedora is not a replica of any individual hat but is made from existing hat blocks so people can recreate their favorite classic styles or make something entirely new! Currently, we only offer brown with dark brown ribbon, but we plan to offer other colors and styles in the future.

Sizing Info: Available is hat sizes 55-62. DO NOT order your hat based on the size of another hat brand. Our hats are true to size standard oval, so please measure your head in centimeters and round to the next size up. (If you’re 56.7, do 57. If you’re 57.3, do 58.) If your hat feels loose, you can always add padding (such as folded paper or foam) to give your hat a perfect fit.

Shaping Service or Open Crown: Your hat will come open crown which means you need to add the shape or “bash” yourself. It’s not as hard as it seems, and we can send you some videos for reference. However, if you’d rather not do it yourself, we can shape the hat for you for an additional $20. In the checkout notes or after your order, please add a message with how you’d like to have your hat shaped. Please give a link or 2-3 images from difference angles. Hats will always be shaped like normal without a “turn” unless specifically asked for. Because each hat is made differently, we cannot promise it to be identical to the image you send, but we’ll aim to match the primary characteristics. Hats are not returnable or refundable if shaped.

NOTE: These hats are currently available for pre-order, with production beginning in 1-2 months once felt bodies are manufactured (Hopefully, by the end of January) and we have new boxes sometime after Chinese New Year (January 28th – February 4th). After production begins, please allow 2-5 weeks for crafting plus at least 7-21 days for shipping (sometimes more as they are shipped from China). *Each hat is made to order, so the dimensions will be close but may not be precisely what is listed.

Shipping/Tariffs to US (Updated 4/1/2025): Beginning April 2, 2025, it appears Trump will begin a 20% tariff on all shipments from China. As I’m a teacher in China doing this as a side-business, it appears that US citizens will be charged this when their has it delivered. Likely, on delivery, but that remains to be seen. I do not know all the details or specifics other than this.

Returns, Exchanges, Shipping Problems: We only accept returns or exchanges for unshaped hats. Return shipping is at the expense of the customer. If a hat is damaged during shipping, please contact us immediately with thorough pictures of the box and hat. We are not responsible for hats damaged during transit. Please keep both the hat and the box. In order to replace the hat, we will need to contact the courier, and we need all the info possible. We will let you know if you will need to make a complaint to the courier yourself.
